Qualified as a Mathematics teacher at Durban Teachers Training Centre.

Qualified as a Computer Science Teacher (with distinction) in 1984. Computers were just being introduced as a matric subject. I started a computer laboratory with 2 Apple 11e  computers at Brettonwood High School and was simultaneously appointed by the Natal Education Department to train 2 external computer classes. By the end of 1991 the computer laboratory had 12 computers (A mixture of Apple 11e’s and Apple 11c’s)

I was promoted to the post of computer lecturer at Edgewood College of Education in 1992. One laboratory was equipped with Commodore 64’s and Apple 11e’s and the other laboratory was equipped with Apple 11e’s and 11c’s. Both were soon upgraded to IBM compatibles. By the time I took voluntary severance in 2000, there were 3 computer laboratories at Edgewood. I was in charge of the equipment and staff.

From 2001 to 2003 I was a trainer at New Horizons Computer Learning Centre where I specialised in the creative programs (PowerPoint, Front Page, Visio, CorelDraw and HTML)

From 2004  to 2011 I joined New Forest High School as an IT teacher and later taught CAT.

On retirement I was appointed to do several locums. One at Grosvenor High School and many at Open Air School. In 2017 the headmaster of Open Air School asked me to come in for two years to close the CAT department as he was finding staffing CAT a continuous problem.
